Millar Western’s Brian McConkey named to WCB board of directors
Millar Western’s Vice-President of Human Resources & Corporate Affairs, Brian McConkey, has been named to the board of directors of the Workers’ Compensation Board. The WCB plays a critical role in protecting both employees and employers in the event of workplace injuries: expediting treatment, mitigating financial impacts and helping individuals in their return to work. “Millar Western’s first priority – always – is to protect employee health and safety and prevent injuries in our workplaces,” says Brian. “But WCB is an important backstop for workers throughout the province. It’s there to ensure that, if someone is ever hurt on the job, they’ll have the compensation, treatment and rehabilitation they’ll need to get their lives back to normal. I’m pleased to have the opportunity to represent Millar Western, our people and employers across the province on the WCB board.”
