Millar Western recognized for exceptional safety performance
Congratulations to employees at our Fox Creek Wood Products and Whitecourt Pulp operations, who were recognized at the recent Alberta Forest Products Association AGM for exceptional safety performance in the prior year. Fox Creek won the Health & Safety Excellence Award for 2018 in Sawmill Category 1, while Whitecourt Pulp won the Health & Safety Excellence Award for 2018 in the Pulp and Paper Category. In addition, Fox Creek was once again recognized for long-term commitment, receiving the Outstanding Achievement in Healthy and Safety Award for 2016-2018, having previously received honours for the 2015-2017 period!
Presented by association president Paul Whittaker on behalf of both the AFPA and Alberta Labour, and received by the company’s Tom Thompson, Brian McConkey and Kelvin Kostyniuk on behalf of employees, these awards are a tribute to the dedication and hard work of staff throughout our organization. This recognition of their efforts was welcome and well deserved… but the truly important thing is that our people are going home safe at the end of every shift. Well done, all!
