Millar Western received numerous safety awards at the Alberta Forest Products Association’s Annual General Meeting
On Septmeber 25, 2003, at the Annual General Meeting of the Alberta Forest Products Association, Millar Western Forest Products Ltd. received several awards for outstanding performance in employee safety.
The Whitecourt Wood Products Division received the “Excellence in Health and Safety” award for 2002 in the Saw/Planer Mill Sector Category 4 – mills over 600,001 person-hours worked. Millar Western’s Whitecourt pulp mill received the “Excellence in Health and Safety” award for 2002 in the Pulp and Paper category. These awards are presented to mills achieveing the highest combined score in a “Partners in Injury Reduction” audit and in recordable lost time injury statistics.
In addition to the 2002 awards, both the Whitecourt pulp mill and our Boyle Wood Products Division received awards for “Continued Excellence 1998 – 2002,” furthering recognition of Millar Western’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in safety.
