Learn more about annual forestry plans at upcoming open houses
Millar Western, together with regional forest companies ANC Timber (Alberta Newsprint Company), West Fraser (Blue Ridge Lumber) and Alberta Plywood, will be holding a series of open houses, to share annual operating plans for the 2017-18 forestry year. The plans outline proposed activities in the areas of road development, harvesting, reforestation, purchase wood programs, manual tending, vegetation management and mountain pine beetle mitigation. After public and aboriginal consultations are completed, Millar Western will submit the draft plans to the Alberta government, for approval.
All open houses run from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and anyone interested in learning more about regional forest plans and sustainable forest management is invited to participate.
