Dry End Operator – Whitecourt Pulp Mill
Application deadline: February 15, 2026Millar Western’s Whitecourt Pulp Division is seeking a highly motivated Dry End Operator to join the Production team. This position is responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of the pulp finishing and warehouse areas. Duties include operating a forklift, handling and moving finished pulp within the warehouse, loading trucks and railcars, and working on the finishing line to ensure product quality and production targets are met.
The Dry End Operator will work in the Production team and is expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and the ongoing development of Millar Western’s safety culture. This is a shift position working rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have a Grade 12 education and be a minimum of 18 years of age. Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required. Forklift experience and a strong safety record are required. Good communication skills, proficiency with the MS Office suite, and familiarity with SAP are considered assets. While a 3rd or 4th Class Power Engineering (steam) ticket is not required at the time of hire, the successful candidate will be expected to complete the required power engineering coursework and exams within two years of hiring.
