Millar Western provides Edmonton Christmas tree
So glad to share the holiday spirit with all of Edmonton! At “Holiday Light-Up” in Churchill Square on Saturday, about 10,000 people came out to see Mayor Don Iveson and Santa Claus light the giant Christmas tree that will be the focus of winter holiday celebrations in the city. Many thanks to company forester Max Matthews and the Millar Western team, as well as to Shawn Prokipchuck of RPTL, for safely felling, loading, then hauling the massive, 72-foot white spruce from Whitecourt as our gift to the people of Edmonton. Thanks, too, to our friends at EPCOR for decorating it so beautifully with its 14,000 lights, and to the Downtown Business Association for throwing an amazing party!
