Junior Forest Wardens earn our support
On behalf of the Whitecourt Whiskey Jacks, Keira (aged 10) and Kori (7) MacAulay this week received a cheque for $1500 from Tim McCready and Janet Millar of Millar Western.
The Whiskey Jacks, Whitecourt’s local chapter of the Junior Forest Wardens, earned the donation with hard work: club members planted 1500 tree seedlings this spring, as part of Millar Western’s forest renewal activities. With 40 clubs active in Alberta and additional chapters in BC, Saskatchewan and Newfoundland, JFW is an outdoor education program focused on learning by doing. JFW members get outdoors — camping, backpacking, canoeing, mountaineering, tree planting and more — to gain skills in forestry, ecology, outdoor survival and leadership. Our thanks to Kori, Keira and all Whitecourt Whiskey Jacks for their important reforestation work: Millar Western was happy to support your efforts!
