New forest, environmental certifications for Millar Western’s Boyle Woodlands
Following successful audits in late 2011, Millar Western’s Boyle woodlands operations have now been certified under the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) and ISO 14001 standards, joining the company’s Whitecourt/Fox Creek operations. Effective January 11, 2012, certificates have been issued for Boyle and renewed for Whitecourt and Fox Creek. The certification of all company woodlands operations under these internationally-recognized, third-party-audited forest certification and environmental management programs marks a significant milestone for Millar Western, providing stakeholders with further confirmation of the company’s commitment to managing natural resources in a responsible and sustainable manner.
