Millar Western taking special measures during COVID-19 outbreak
Millar Western is taking steps to protect our employees, families and communities during the COVID-19 outbreak.
- Our mills and offices remain in full operation but have been closed to the public. All non-essential visits to our sites have been cancelled, with meetings being deferred or held by teleconference. Contractors and others with essential business on our sites will be required to complete an infection risk assessment before entering our sites. Our switchboards remain open, and staff will be retrieving messages left at their individual extensions.
- We have made information available to all employees regarding protecting their personal health and that of their families, including direction for where to find the latest direction and recommendations from Alberta Health.
- We have suspended business travel and given employees direction regarding personal travel.
- Within our workplaces, we’re taking extra precautions to protect employee health. Where people can work remotely, they are doing so. Where they cannot, we have made special arrangements to enhance social distancing, surface disinfection and other safety measures.
We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation closely, and to work with our employees, contractors, suppliers, customers and all other stakeholders to protect community health.
