Kevin Edgson named Chief Financial Officer
Millar Western Forest Products Ltd. President & CEO H. MacKenzie Millar has announced the appointment of Kevin Edgson to the position of Chief Financial Officer. In this role, Mr. Edgson assumes senior responsibility for Millar Western’s financial planning, activities and reporting, as well as overall management of the corporate services supporting the company’s lumber and pulp business units.
Mr. Edgson has held progressively senior positions with Millar Western since joining the company in 1991, serving most recently as Vice-President, Finance & Business Development. Born in Duncan, B.C., Mr. Edgson has lived and worked in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan during a 20-year career in the Western Canadian forest industry that has encompassed operational, marketing and finance experience in the pulp, lumber and panel sectors. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Alberta and a BA in Economics from the University of Victoria.
Having taken up the responsibilities of Chief Financial Officer upon the previous incumbent’s departure, Ms. Carol Cotton has now completed a phased transfer of these duties and resumes her executive role as Senior Vice-President.
In making the announcement, Mr. Millar thanked Ms. Cotton for effecting the orderly transition in senior financial management, and congratulated Mr. Edgson on his new appointment.
