Helping gardens grow in Whitecourt
Millar Western strives to make a positive contribution to the communities where we live and work, in large ways and small. One small project that’s continuing to make a big impact, three years on, is a company donation of lumber to the Whitecourt Community Garden Society. The Society used the lumber to build garden plots, available for rental by area residents. As the Whitecourt Star recently reported, the project has been a true community effort: the Town of Whitecourt donated land, Millar Western and Alberta Newsprint Company provided materials, and volunteers gave their labour. The result? An increase in healthy activity and healthy eating!
