2012 Alexis/Millar Western Scholarship applications open
The Alexis Nakota Sioux Nation and Millar Western have worked together on the land for many years. Their historical ties have been strengthened with a Forestry and Economic Development Agreement (FEDA) that outlines responsibilities and opportunities for environmental stewardship and economic development. Under the FEDA, Millar Western offers scholarships to Alexis students pursuing post-secondary education.
Six awards of $1000 are made available every year to eligible students. Funded by Millar Western, the scholarships are administered and awarded by the FEDA Environmental Co-Stewardship Committee (ECSC), whose members represent both the community and the company.
With September 28 set as the deadline for applications, the ECSC invites Alexis students to find out more about the 2011 Alexis/Millar Western Scholarship program. See the links below for more information:
