Millar Western Forest Products Ltd.’s Whitecourt Pulp Division is seeking an Operations Accountant to join our team. Reporting to the Mill Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in mill operations. The primary responsibilities will include month-end procedures, account reconciliations, forecast and budget preparation, cost analysis, and facilitating financial coordination among team members. Additionally, the role involves providing insights to improve operational efficiency, supporting audits, and assisting with special projects as needed.

The ideal candidate

Qualified candidates will have related education and at least two years of experience in the preparation of financial statements.  They will be knowledgeable of ERP systems, preferably SAP, and possess excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.  An accounting designation and a background in manufacturing would be considered assets.
