Health & Safety Coordinator (Maternity Leave)

Millar Western Forest Products Ltd.’s Slake Lake Pulp Division is seeking a Health & Safety Coordinator (Maternity Leave) to join our team. This individual will work collaboratively with leadership throughout the organization to enhance and anchor our safety culture. The role will encompass a combination of strategic planning, policy development, implementation and auditing of corporate/site standards and initiatives, as well as the tactical implementation and maintenance of our safety system at an operational level.

The ideal candidate

The preferred candidate will have a CRSP designation and/or be a graduate from an accredited post-secondary institution in a related field of study, with a minimum of three years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing/production environment. They will possess a thorough knowledge of the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code, have experience with WCB claims management and appeals processes and experience in risk management. Above all, the successful candidate will be passionate about safety and demonstrate an ability to lead and influence others in support of our safety culture.
