Chemical Offloading Operator
Application deadline: September 26, 2025Millar Western’s Slave Lake Pulp Division is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Offloading Operator to join the Production team. Responsibilities include ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed while offloading chemical railcars and trucks, operating equipment such as railcar mover, forklift, conducting routine equipment checks and basic maintenance, and maintaining cleanliness in the work area. Additional duties may include performing fire protection system checks, support for operations and other tasks as assigned.
Physical demands of the role include climbing stairs and ladders, as well as lifting items up to 25 kilograms. This position operates on 12-hour shifts, following a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation.
The ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate will have completed Grade 12 or possess a GED and will demonstrate strong teamwork skills along with basic computer proficiency. A willingness to learn and grow, combined with effective organizational and communication abilities, is important. We are looking for a self-starter who works methodically, pays close attention to detail, and approaches challenges with a proactive mindset. Mechanical aptitude and experience with quality control processes are considered valuable assets. Good verbal and written communication skills are also important, and a valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
