Wildfire hazard level Extreme
Due to the EXTREME Wildfire Hazard conditions in our region and the fire situation across the province, all Millar Western woodlands operations requiring heavy equipment and quads have been suspended until further notice.
Extreme conditions mean a wildfire that starts will spread fast and be difficult and dangerous to control. Whether working in the field or going about other activities, be vigilant and aware. Respect the provincial fire ban, curb use of off-highway vehicles, and do not discard cigarettes or matches.
This morning, our thoughts are with our neighbours in Fort McMurray. Millar Western has reached out to our friends at Northland Forest Products to offer support.
