Millar Western CEO Craig Armstrong named AFPA chair
Millar Western’s Craig Armstrong has been elected chair of the board of directors of the Alberta Forest Products Association.
Armstrong, President and CEO of Millar Western Forest Products Ltd., has more than 35 years of experience in the forest sector, including senior executive, operating and marketing positions.
“I am honoured to serve the Alberta’s forest industry as chair of the AFPA,” said Armstrong. “This industry has been a major part of the economy in rural Alberta for generations, and we have now entered an exciting period of transformation. We are focused on keeping the forest sector strong, attracting young people to the industry, and continuing our commitment to environmental stewardship.”
The AFPA is the voice of Alberta’s forest industry, working to promote the sector as a responsible manager of renewable resources, key contributor to Alberta’s growing bio-economy, and an exceptional place to build a career.
Armstrong replaces Jason Boucher as AFPA Chair. Boucher, who will remain on the Board, played a key role in helping advance the work of the association, earning the thanks of his industry.
