Vegetation management program, Aug 15-Sept 25, will aid reforestation work
As part of its reforestation efforts, Millar Western will be applying herbicides to approximately 6,000 hectares of cutblocks in its FMA area and timber licenses in the Whitecourt, Swan Hills, Fox Creek and Edson areas, from August 15 to September 25.
The vegetation management program is aimed at temporarily controlling herbaeous, shrub and deciduous competition in tree planting areas, to improve the growth and survival of seedlings and saplings, and ensure the renewal of healthy forests.
