The board members represent the two sectors primarily affected by land policies in Alberta – forestry and agriculture. The forest sector will be represented by Millar Western Sr. Vice-President Joe Costantino and by Bob Nichol of Alberta-Pacific Forest Industries. Representing the agriculture industry will be producers Terry Young and Jurgen Preugschas.
The institute is expected to help position Alberta as an environmental innovator. At its first meeting on June 18th, the board will begin looking at how the forest and agriculture sectors can benefit from rising consumer interest in environmentally friendly products and processes.
