Loader Operator – Whitecourt Pulp Division
Application deadline: February 15, 2026Millar Western Forest Products, Whitecourt Pulp Division is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Loader Operator to join the Yard team. This role is critical to supporting mill operations through the safe and efficient handling of materials across the chip pad, woodroom, crane and general yard areas. The successful candidate will work closely within the Yard, Production, and other operating groups to ensure material flow, housekeeping standards, and operational readiness are consistently maintained.
This position requires operating heavy mobile equipment in an active industrial environment, performing routine equipment checks, and responding to changing operational priorities. A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential, as the Loader Operator is expected to follow all safety procedures, identify hazards, and actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the department and across the facility. This is a shift position working rotating 12-hour shifts, including both days and nights.
The ideal candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience operating heavy equipment in a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment and demonstrate a strong safety mindset with a positive safety record. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license. Prior experience working in a manufacturing or mill environment is considered an asset.
Candidates should possess effective communication skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a reliable work ethic. Basic computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, and familiarity with SAP or similar systems are considered assets.
