Environmental Technologist – Whitecourt
Application deadline: July 28, 2025Millar Western’s Whitecourt Pulp Division is seeking an Environmental Technologist who will work as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our effluent treatment systems and overall environmental management program.
Reporting to the Environmental Supervisor, you will be actively involved with the operations and environmental teams in the daily operations of our BCTMP Pulp Mill. Responsibilities include:
- Fine-tuning treatment system processes for optimal efficiency and performance.
- Championing safety protocols and organizational standards.
- Analyzing and interpreting data to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborating with research organizations on innovative projects.
- Overseeing maintenance activities and contractor coordination.
- Identifying and implementing enhancement opportunities for operational excellence.
The ideal candidate
The successful candidate will possess a Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Sciences, Waste Water Management or Power Engineering with 1 to 3 years of experience in Waste Water Management or relevant experience. The ability to troubleshoot environmental system problems and give direction to the effluent technicians, operators and contractors will be required.
