Shipping Coordinator
Application deadline: March 07, 2025Millar Western’s Quesnel River Pulp Division is seeking a Shipping Coordinator to optimize pulp (BCTMP) shipments and manage process chemical inventory. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will coordinate shipping via rail, truck, and containers, issue Production and Shipping Instructions, and manage pulp inventory to maintain optimal warehouse levels. Responsibilities include liaising with receiving warehouses and carriers such as CN Rail, forecasting and monitoring chemical usage based on production grades, and supervising the Warehouse Day Loader.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills. They possess solid knowledge of computer software and applications, with a preference for those proficient in MS Excel. Effective communication and the ability to collaborate with personnel at all levels, from hourly employees to management, are essential. Previous experience in shipping and/or familiarity with pulp processing facilities would be a valuable asset, as would prior supervisory experience. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage logistics efficiently while maintaining a high level of coordination and problem-solving in a dynamic environment..
