Millar Western Forest Products Ltd.’s Slave Lake Pulp Division is seeking an Engineering Superintendent to join our team. Reporting to the Technical and Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will lead and mentor a team of project engineers, focusing on safety, productivity, quality, and cost improvements. Responsibilities include strategic oversight of capital projects, facility maintenance, and fixed asset inspections, as well as contractor management and major shutdown coordination. This role also serves as the primary liaison with consultants, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders to ensure project success and compliance.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, a P.Eng designation (or eligibility with APEGA), and 5+ years of leadership experience, ideally in heavy industry or a pulp mill. They will have strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, with a commitment to collaboration, growth, and delivering results.
