Journeyperson Automotive/Heavy Duty Mechanic

Millar Western Forest Products Ltd.’s Slave Lake Pulp Division is currently seeking a Certified Automotive or Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will provide quality mechanical repair services to our Slave Lake pulp operations. Responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and remedying malfunctions, and repairing and maintaining industrial equipment such as forklifts, loaders, butt-n-top machines, Jenbacher gas engines, and other mobile equipment. Ensuring the quality and standards of service to safety and production are continually maintained is essential.

 The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will hold a valid Inter-Provincial or Provincial Journeyperson Automotive or Heavy Duty Mechanic certification and possess proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment, particularly industrial engines. The ability to read manuals and schematics is essential. Demonstrating innovative problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to safety in the workplace is crucial. Additionally, the candidate should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision, and exhibit excellent organizational and planning skills.
