Inventory Manager

Millar Western is seeking an Inventory Manager to assume responsibility for the day-to-day activities of the Stores Departments at our pulp and wood products operations in Whitecourt and Fox Creek, Alberta.

Based out of the company’s pulp mill in Whitecourt, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising Stores personnel, as well as managing and optimizing the company’s $13 million parts and supplies inventory, including overseeing associated controls and processes. The Inventory Manager will work in collaboration with divisional maintenance departments to integrate and align materials-management activities, and to develop and administer SAP materials-and-maintenance management systems that support needs across all operating divisions. He/she will also assist with Stores operation and procurement, as needed.

The ideal candidate
Ideal applicants will have supervisory experience, a solid parts background, and above-average computer skills, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office products.  Knowledge of SAP materials-management and/or maintenance-management systems will be considered an asset. Parts and/or supply-chain management certification would also be desirable.
